4th Sunday After Pentecost – Father’s Day

Slava Isusu Hristu! Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

In today’s Gospel lesson (Mt. 8:5-13), the Roman centurion – soldier was commanded by Jesus Christ for his faith in our Lord and his willingness to do everything to heal his young servant. It was something extraordinary at that time for the master to ask a favour for his servant, but the centurion did. With full confidence and humility he asked Jesus for healing. Jesus saw the soldier’s faith and He rewarded him for his faith not only by curing his servant, but also praising him publicly for his faith: “I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel”, Jesus said.
Today, as we celebrate FATHER’S DAY, as we pray for our fathers, let us ask Jesus Christ that He grants the same faith, same humility, same determination to all of our fathers. So in that way they may be able to lead the lives according the commands of our Lord and be bright examples of faith, love and hope for their children!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

God’s blessings!
