Pentecost

Slava Isusu Hristu! Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

For today’s great feast of Pentecost – the Descent of the Holy Spirit, Gospel reading (Jn. 7:37-52) started with Jesus’ proclamation: “Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink.” The world is thirsty, but not so much by physical thirst, but a spiritual one! The world is thirsty but still refuses to receive the Living Water. Living Water, which is the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised many times that He will send the Holy Spirit to the apostles and on the day of Pentecost, that is exactly what happened. We are celebrating PENTECOST today. We are asking God to give us also the power from heaven that we may quench our thirst for Him. Our thirst for being better Christians, our thirst to serve and love God and our brothers and sisters better. Let us ask God to give us in that special way the gift of Himself as the Third Person of the Holy Trinity.
