Sunday of the Samaritan Woman

Hristos Voskres! Christ is Risen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

After a long conversation and after Jesus’ offer to give her the living water at the well in Sychar (Jn. 4:4-42), the Samaritan Woman exclaimed: “Please give me this water.” Initially Jesus was the one who asked her: “Please give me a drink.” These words of Jesus resound today throughout the world from many people who are thirsty. And I would say they are not only physically thirsty, but maybe even more spiritually thirsty. Our world thirsts for the truth, meaning of life, justice, and peace …
Where in our world can we find all of these? Only at the source or well of everything that is good, gentle and kind. Only in Jesus Christ can the world, and we in it, find the power to quench our thirst. And once refreshed with the living water, we are invited to share it with those who are still searching, those who are still thirsty …

God bless you all!
