Sunday of the Paralytic Man

Hristos Voskres! Christ is Risen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Do we want to admit it or not, we know very well that we are all ill. I don’t mean that we are all sick with the physical ailments but with the worst illness, which is sin. We are aware that every day we have to battle with this illness, but at the same time every day, or should I say every moment of our lives, Jesus is asking us: “Would you like to get well?” What does it mean? It means that Jesus is ready to heal us, as He did with the Paralytic Man in today’s Gospel message (Jn. 5:1-15). The question is not if Jesus can do it. The question is do we want Him to do that for us? Do we let Him to heal us from our spiritual wounds: our sins, our bad habits, and our negligence… which many times inevitably cause physical illnesses? Let us allow Jesus to be always our healer, and not only allow Him, but beg Him to do that.
