4th Sunday of Great Lent

Glory be to Jesus Christ! May He be glorified forever!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

St. Mark Evangelist is presenting to us very beautiful healing episode in today’s Gospel (Mk. 9:17-31). Healing of the boy possessed by evil spirit. Boy’s father asked Jesus for help with these words: “But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” When we talk to Jesus through our daily prayers, let us never use the words “If you can”. Of course Jesus can and wants to help us heal us and be there for us. The question is, do we really want to believe He can do it. Do we have strong faith that what we ask will be done for us? I think we do to certain point, but we are also aware that we have to cry out with the boy’s father on daily basis: “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
