27th Sunday After Pentecost

Slava Isusu Hristu! Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

What a wonderful example of goodness and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ we have in today’s Gospel reading (Lk. 13:10-17). Seeing the crippled woman, knowing where her bondage was coming from and for how long she had to suffer, Jesus immediately healed her. But it was Sabbath, the day he was not supposed to do so according to the strict rules of the Law. Human need for help, compassion, kindness and love doesn’t have limitations. We are called to love, to serve and help even it is on holy days – Sundays. Maybe, I would say, even more on these days. Jesus taught us so and we are to follow his example, we are to imitate him.

Many blessings!

Fr. Janko!
