22nd Sunday After Pentecost

Slava Isusu Hristu! Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Very well known Parable that we are reflecting upon today from the writing of St. Luke (Lk. 16:19-31), and very well neglected in the world. Generally speaking. We are all aware of unbalance in the world where small number of people lives in luxury and majority of the people in poverty. This picture is very well depicted in today’s Gospel story, but with the warning that there are going to be the consequences for that. Living in luxury is not sin per se but neglecting those around who are dying of hunger because of the luxurious living of few is the sin.
And we have heard what the consequences are. Poor man, Lazarus, whose life depended on God and mercy of rich man, died and was carried by the angels to the place of bliss. Rich man, whose purpose of life was to enjoy everything for him, died and was put to the place of dead. What consequences of our lives will be?
