15th Sunday After Pentecost

Slava Isusu Hristu! Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Our web messages are back! I hope you all had a good time during the summer. A few days ago we started our New Liturgical Year. At the beginning of it let us ask our Lord for His blessings as we continue to serve Him in our best possible way.

In today’s Gospel (Mt.22:35-46) we have heard these Jesus’ words:” The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” What commandments? Commandments of love! Love your God and love your neighbour. For many, loving God is not problematic at all. Even people who suffer tremendously, or are going through many misfortunes, are saying that God knows and will help. Loving neighbour, though, is not so easy. How can I love him/her who is constantly making my days miserable? How can I love neighbour who made me great material damage. Who gossip about me and make me feel bad? With the grace of forgiveness, with the power of the Holy Spirit whom we are to ask to help us through the prayer, with the virtue of patience, we can love everyone and in that way fulfill the commandment of Christ.

Yours in Christ!

Fr. Janko!
